I have been following recent debates on national issues, especially in the wake of Mr. Peter Obi’s interview on Channels TV. I have also paid close attention to the growing calls for electoral and police reforms. These are issues I intend to shed more light on in due course.
In the meantime, let me be clear: it is not important to dwell on whether Mr. Peter Obi worked with or for the Abacha regime, as has dominated recent social discourse. This line of debate adds little value to the crucial task of identifying the most credible candidate to address the pressing needs of Nigerians.
We must, at all times, interrogate the ideas of those seeking to govern us. We must demand, without compromise, clear and convincing plans to tackle the issues that continue to plague us as a people.
It is of little or no substance if a presidential hopeful once worked with saints yet lacks concrete plans to lift our nation out of the burden of poor leadership.

Our focus must be on electing leaders with practical and convincing solutions to the challenges of insecurity, unreliable power supply, economic inequality, police and electoral reforms, climate change, and more..
It is our collective responsibility to ensure that any prospective candidate who lacks ideas to solve the multitude of problems facing us does not ride on the ignorance or sentiment of some Nigerians to attain power.
