A great deal of misconception and false narrative thrives in our society today. Our nation’s fortunes are deteriorating because we have collectively made poor decisions as a people, influenced by these narratives. To ‘Make Nigeria Work for Everyone,’ we must reform our ideas and norms.
For example, most of us believe that highly placed politicians are the ones who rig elections in Nigeria, but in reality, it is often ordinary Nigerians who do. Ordinary Nigerians snatch ballot boxes, intimidate voters, and disrupt peaceful electoral processes. Tinubu, Wike, and Akpabio do not rig elections; it is ordinary Nigerians who carry out these acts. Ordinary Nigerians are the ones who sell their conscience for a pittance.
To ‘Make Nigeria Work for Everyone,’ we must educate ourselves to make more informed decisions at the polls and, most importantly, learn that building a nation requires sacrifice. We must commit to making meaningful sacrifices for a better Nigeria.
This is my personal note to you, to encourage you to join our reorientation drive to educate Nigerians on the intricacies of leadership, politics, and development.
The truth is, no single presidency can solve Nigeria’s problems, except one that inspires a reorientation and reformation of our national character. Without this national reorientation, even a Messiah in Aso Rock would fail.
There is a misconception that poverty has been weaponized by the ruling class in Nigeria, but it is actually the poverty of thought and a lack of reorientation that have been weaponized most effectively.
This is our time to change the narrative of our nation for good and inspire a Nigeria that works for everyone. The journey begins with you.
