The recent escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict is a clear indication that there are no moral grounds in international politics. The competition for unevenly distributed global resources is best likened to an unholy alliance between predator and prey.
The predatorโs instinct is to survive at all costs, even if it means obliterating the prey or wiping it off the face of the earth. This ugly scenario is replicated in international politics. It is a sad tale where stronger nations must get what they want, while weaker nations give what they have.
Africa, for decades, has been exploited in this way.
Hence, for the survival of Africa and its people, we must consciously pursue power, not necessarily to compete with the likes of China, the United States, Russia, or Israel, but to earn a respectable place in the global community and to decisively address internal aggressors and organized crime. It is unfortunate that instead of dealing decisively with the issues of banditry and insurgency, we choose instead to negotiate with these criminal elements, for whatever reason.

Let me state unequivocally: every African leader must deliberately formulate policies that advance the economic and military strength of their respective states if we’re to make progress as a people.
